'Over the last 2 weekends the Club has seen activity that has surpassed anything that has been seen since the re-formation of the Club, with its new excellent facilities. From the end of season awards night followed 2 days later by the first of our mini football festivals, to the following weekend when we hosted an evening with Craig Bellamy, and the second day of the mini football Festivals. Of course these were not the only events that have taken place over the past 2 weeks, we have had Academy Presentations, Welsh league matches, Merthyr league matches and cup ties making a fantastic advert for our Club.
Of course all of these events take meticulous planning and organisation to make them happen and we are very fortunate at the Club to have such dedicated staff, headed by Rob Price determined to show off what we have to offer, the Bar and Catering staff, Steve Rees, Sharon and Debbie, the Business Development Manager Philip Jones, the Community Trust manager Elliott Evans, the Communications Officer Matthew Davies, the Stadium Manager Colin Bodenham and not forgetting the many volunteers who are so willing to give of their time so that things run smoothly. I would like to particularly mention Rob Type for his organisational skills in running the Youth Festivals, how he does it I do not know but when you see almost 1,000 kids and their parents enjoying themselves so much it must fill you with so much satisfaction.
Why have I written this piece for the Club’s web site?, the answer is simple I want to give praise where praise is due, as many of the tasks I have mentioned very often go unseen and so on behalf of the Board of the Club I want to say a huge thank you to all those I have mentioned, you are so much appreciated and long may it continue.''
Meurig Price, Chairman of Merthyr Town Football Club
