28 Sep 2017, Thursday

Merthyr Town travel to St Ives Saturday 30 September in the latest Evo-Stik League South Premier Division match.

The Martyrs are in 8th position with 16 points from 9 games and will be hoping to continue the form of the last 2 matches.  Mo Touray will be unavailable on international duty with Wales Under 19s and Stuart Fleetwood will be available before serving a 3 match suspension following his dismissal against Tiverton Town.

Manager Gavin Williams said “I have been pleased with how we have played in spells in the last 2 games, especially with the number of chances we have created. Hopefully we can continue to create the number of chances we have been and turn more into goals as we move into a tough spell with some tricky matches coming up starting on Satuday.”

The hosts will be aiming to win their first home game having drawn 1 and lost 3 of their opening 4 matches. Merthyr will be familiar with St Ives ground having played there against St Ives and Cambridge City in recent seasons.
