Central defender Jamie Rewbury has made over 250 appearances for Merthyr Tydfil and Merthyr Town in his 2 spells at the club. He scored more than 30 goals during his time at Penydarren Park. Rewbury also captained the club during his second spell.

Jamie played a crucial role in the Championship winning team in 2014/15 after spending the first part of the season on-loan at Porth.

"It's a sad time for myself to be leaving the club at a point where exciting times lay ahead but unfortunately my commitment with work means I would not have been able to give 100% for the gaffer and my team mates."

"I'm sure the boys will go on to challenge this season and it's a shame I can't be a part of it. I would just like to thank the management, players and fans for the great support in my 2 spells at the club. Hopefully see everyone soon. Rewbs!"

Rewbury was a favourite with the fans, and he will be sorely missed by everyone at Penydarren Park. We wish Jamie all the best in the future.
