Slough stun Martyrs with second half comeback
11 Oct 2017, Wednesday

Merthyr Town conceded 5 goals for the second successive league as Slough mounted a second half comeback that stunned the LoadLok Community Stadium.

In a match which took the expression a game of two halves to a new place, the Martyrs started strongly and were 2-0 up inside 10 minutes thanks to goals from Ian Traylor and Mo Touray.  Mark Nisbett then turned an Adam Davies cross into his own net to make it 3-0 on 19 minutes, and then 2 minutes later Ian Traylor made it 4-0.  Traylor also hit the post as the Martyrs looked to run riot.

The second half though saw a change in fortunes and Nathan Smart pulled a goal back within 5 minutes of the re-start with a powerful shot from the edge of the area.  Chris Flood then scored a second Slough goal.  Warren Harris then made it 4-3 with just under 20 minutes to go.  James Dobson then scored 2 goals in last 4 minutes of the game to seal a dramatic victory for the away side.

Merthyr will be looking to put the disappointment of the last 2 matches behind them when they face Gosport Borough on Saturday.
