We are delighted to announce that the official opening of the memorial garden will take place at 1115am on Saturday morning.
Rev Charlotte Rushton, Assistant Curate for the Parish of Merthyr Tydfil, and recently appointed club chaplain, will oversee the blessing of the area designated at the weekend with BBC motivator and fitness guru Chevy Rough also on hand.
Cariad Memorials who have kindly donated the memorial stone, will also be in attendance, while Furniture Revival who donated the first of the two benches will be represented.
"Families of past players and supporters can use this area for reflection and contemplation. By contacting the club, we can arrange for brass inscriptions to be made and placed on the benches," said a club spokesperson.
"We offer a free facility for funerals and trust that the memorial garden will act as a further community asset" he added.
The memorial garden will be part of The Legacy Trail around the ground and there is currently plans for an information point near the memorial garden which will inform people about former players who fought in World War One.
