Adam Davies Agrees Terms with Merthyr Town
23 May 2023
Merthyr Town Football Club is delighted to announce that Adam Davies has agreed terms to return ahead of the 2023/24 Southern League season.
Davies has chalked up 315 appearances for the Martyrs since his arrival in the summer of 2014, and during his time he has played a key role in the Martyrs’ defence, as well as winning the Southern League Division One title in 2014/15, and the Southern League Cup in the 2015/16 season.
Adam came through Cardiff City’s academy at the age of 8 and after his release, he went on to play for Llanelli Town AFC and Monmouth Town before joining the Martyrs in the summer of 2014. Adam left the club briefly during the 2018/19 season to join Hereford FC but returned to the club in December 2018.
Adam made 28 appearances during the 2022/23 season, as well as leading the Martyrs in our FA Cup campaign, ending at Buxton in the First-Round Proper.
Speaking on securing Adam ahead of the new season, Paul Michael said: "I was very pleased with Adam last season, who I think got better and better as the season went on. He had a couple of injuries which happens, but overall, he should be very pleased with his contribution to our season. Another full pre-season and I expect him to be sharper than he has ever been since his Achilles injury.
"Adam will give us that positional experience and quality on the ball as well as ensuring all the players understand what it means to play for Merthyr Town Football Club.”
