In order to retain the FIFA Pro quality standard of our 3G playing surface, we need to involve a number of external business partners to undertake a range of maintenance work in preparation for the testing process ahead of the new season. This also helps to meet the requirements of the Southern League.

Decompaction work, some minor repairs, the annual FIFA field test and essential treatment to eradicate weeds has all been undertaken at considerable expense to the Club.

The Board would like to express our grateful thanks for another significant donation that has been made by Friends of Merthyr to meet the cost of this work, which has only been made possible by everyone’s support of the weekly Soccalot draw. This has now been run by the Friends group since 2005, and allows frequent donations of this type to be made.
