Week 6 - Academy Update
3 October 2024
Last weekend the Under 19's travelled to Pontypridd Academy and won 4-0, with goals scored by Will De Souza (2), Kian Davies and Harri Leek. They are now three points behind league leaders Haverfordwest, having played a game less.
The only goal of a tight game for the Under 16's was scored after 25 minutes by team captain, Dylan Llewellyn as they won for the third time this season.
It was a difficult afternoon for the Under 15s who were up against a formidable Pontypridd United side, who have a 100% record and are the highest league scorers by a considerable margin. Owen Brickell scored the Martyrs consolation goal.
After conceding an early goal the Under 13's had edged in front by half time thanks to goals from Louie Jones and Theo Hall. Substitute Jenson James scored his eighth goal for the Academy in the 67th minute to round off a 3-1 victory.
There was a game of fluctuating fortunes for the Under 12's as Riley Powell opened the scoring after 6 minutes, before Pontypridd scored twice to take a one goal advantage into the half time interval. The Martyrs equalised through Jack Williams after 43 minutes, before Riley Powell completed the comeback with his second goal of the game just two minutes later to take the team to joint first position in the league table.
